A-star Roofing and Construction resolved our roofing needs. They were quick to start and finished our roof before an impending rain storm. They were professional, honest and thorough. We were definitely impressed.

My roof had a leak every time it rained. I called quite a few roofing companies over several weeks, & ultimately chose A-Star Roofing. A-Star Roofing did the best work at the best price. They were knowledgeable, negotiated with me, gave a very reasonable price & resolved the issue. While on my roof they noticed several other things that needed some repair and took time to fix those at no extra cost. Five stars!!

A 85-square-foot section of my flat roof needed to be replaced (due to leaks), so I called 11 roofing companies, and 4 provided quotes. (The other companies didn't return my calls or refused to provide quotes because of the small size or level of the roof.) Of those who provided quotes, A-Star Roofing was the only one to actually come out to look at the roof, to make sure that they knew exactly what the project entailed and could provide an accurate quote. (The other companies quoted from pictures I sent them, without coming out to the site.)A-Star Roofing gave a very thorough quote, which included taking off the old roof (and plywood, if needed), before placing the new materials. The other companies had not planned to take off the old roof, until I specifically asked (based on my brother's recommendation, as he does roofing in another state).The quote from A-Star Roofing was below two other quotes. I chose A-Star Roofing over the company with the lowest quote, due to A-Star Roofing's thoroughness, experience, timeliness, and positive reviews. (The other company wouldn't provide references, a descriptive invoice, or an estimated date of service.)I signed a contract with A-Star Roofing at their busy time of year (autumn), but the work was complete by the estimated date they gave me, which was two-and-a-half weeks from signing. A deposit was required at signing, and a discount offered for cash payment at the time of settling.The base wood on my old roof was in very poor shape (as they showed me), so they replaced it with plywood. Then they placed a weather shield over the plywood, and then a roof sheet over the weather shield. Finally, they placed a metal rain guard along the exterior. The work seems very well done. It looks nice, and it functions well (no leaks anymore). I am quite satisfied, and I recommend A-Star Roofing.

It was threatening rain and I had just put in skylights. In a panic I called Gary and his crew to come over and give me an estimate. It was the right price and perfect timing. We had a leak in our roof and we weren’t sure if we needed a whole new roof or just a smaller repair. The first company I contacted told me that we’d need a new roof without much of an explanation, but Gerry came by next and told us our roof would last a few more years, that we just needed the smaller repair for now, and he also noticed a missing rain cap (the other company failed to mention that as well). We were appreciative of Gerry’s honesty, communication, and attention to detail.

We had asked the two top roofing companies in the SL and Utah county areas for bids and then to let us see some of the roofs they have done. They looked pretty horrible. When we did the same with A-Start Roofing, their work spoke for itself. Two days after, we contracted with Gerry. Being a Project Manager by profession I watch very closely how a vendor follows up with me and whether or not they do what they promise.Gerry was great in that aspect.The team finished the roof in a few days. Gary and his men just finished a roof for me. They did an excellent job. We got bids from three different companies and he was the most reasonable, using all the same material, and doing the same job as the other more expensive bids. Gary and his crew were always respectful and kind. They worked hard and finished it on time. He was easy to contact, always keeping me appraised of what was going on, and the time table. We had a bit of a delay because of the rain, but as soon as the weather cleared he called me and we got started. He always returned my call either by answering questions by text message or by calling me. I would recommend Gary without any reservations.

A-Star roofing may or may not be the cheapest but if you want a roof done right call Gerry at A-Star. My neighbors roofs all have wind and hail damage and my roof looks great still and shows no signs of damage. It’s so nice to know my roof was done right.

Gerry came to fix some roof repairs before we sold our home. He gave us a great price compared to another local company and got it done fast!

We have a home with two types of roofing - a regular shingled roof and a large flat membrane roof that was in really bad shape. A Star Roofing tore down tons of old roof layers and installed both the new shingles and new membrane. They did a great job with everything. Before the roof was done, the owner even came after hours to help prevent all the leaking during major rain. He communicated well with us every step of the way to help ensure there were no surprises. We appreciated his professionalism and personal attention, we are very satisfied!

I was impressed with A-star roofing, I had called several companies prior to A-star and the other companies never showed up to give a quote when they said they would and would not even call me back. I was able to get a hold of Gerry directly and he got us set up as soon as the bid was accepted, when it was too rainy for them to come out on the appointed day Gerry called and let me know. While the contractors were working on the roof we had to make an adjustment to the repair and they were willing to do it on the spot working into the dark with their headlamps on to get the job done. Gerry was great to work with. Finally a reliable roofing company that answers their phone.

What a wonderful job! I didn’t have to wait 2 months to get my roof done, they were there and done within the week of signing and the quality was amazing, my roof is so beautiful now! We moved into our house and discovered that despite having a home inspection, the roof needed to be repaired. (The previous owner's roofer did not install the drip strip correctly, meaning that rain off the roof did not go into the rain gutter but straight into the soffit and onto our windows.)A-Star Roofing correctly identified the problem (they were the THIRD company we called) and made the repairs, helping us get 15 more years from our current roof.When it's time to get a new roof, A-Star will be our first call.

We needed our whole roof replaced and brought up to code and Gerry was very helpful and thorough through the whole process. Gerry Heaton and his construction staff are absolutely the best people to work with that I know of, in recent memory. They are indeed a rare breed in today's market. They provided expedient service, superior workmanship and they provided answers to a couple of tricky problem areas that I was concerned about on my roof. I would highly recommend them for ANY roofing needs. Their costs were also below three other estimates I sought, as well.

Gerry went above and beyond what we asked him to do and he did it for free! We had concerns about the condition of our roof after an initial negative look over and he assured us that it still had years of life left in it. He also gave us a quote that was well under the first quote for when it will eventually need to be replaced. We had a tight deadline and he went out of his way to come and give us a quote quickly even knowing he wouldn't get paid for it. We will definitely be using him for our roofing needs in the future.

We decided to give A-star a chance because I noticed the good reviews and I noticed that Gerry was responsive to the poor reviews and tried to make things right.He came to do the inspection and first recommended to just lay shingles over the old ones, which I respected that he wasn't just trying to give us the most expensive job. When he heard that we were staying for the length we were and that we had a previous leak and suggested a roof replacement.At the supply store he showed us different products and I could tell that he keeps up to date with roof technology, which we appreciated. We were expecting a much more expensive cost and were so happy to hear the estimate.His team came and they were fast and friendly (especially Riggo). They were great.The roof looks awesome, they worked quickly, and cleaned up the yard after they were done (which not every company does).Thank you A-star roofing!Update from 3/2021:We just did our taxes and because the shingle choice that Gerry recommended is eco-friendly we got some back on our taxes. A-Star Roofing owner Gerry Heaton has been incredibly helpful and professional. I have had several companies look at our old tar and gravel roof since we bought our fixer upper over a year ago. Gerry was the only one who knew about tar and gravel and had a comprehensive understanding of low pitch roofs like ours and the special treatment they require. The roofers were quick, reliable and hard working but what I was most impressed with is how they tidied up every day and that I didn’t need to worry about nails etc. They made sure that my flowers were protected from the old shingles. I was very happy from the beginning to the end with Gerry.

We had another roofer come out and give us a bid recommending that we replace the whole roof. I am so glad I got a second opinion. We were removing the swamp cooler from our roof and wanted the roof fixed right, so we called A-star back to help us. They were very friendly and did the work the same day as our other contractor. Now you can't even tell there ever was a swamp cooler in the first place. Thanks, guys!

I am very happy with my new roof. They made sure no water got into my house even though it rained almost every day while they were working on it. They solved a preexisting troublesome leaking problem of a slanted roof connecting to an almost flat roof and now it does not leak anymore.

Everything about our experience with A-Star Roofing was excellent. Our estimate was timely and reasonable. The employees did a very good job, even in the summer heat. Gerry, the owner, responded quickly to calls and made the whole process fast and easy.
